This beautifully coloured, robust yarn from The Knitting Goddess is a sock knitters dream but it is also soft enough to make other gorgeous accessories. We are even tempted to make a cardigan in it but we only have a limited quantity in stock at the moment so all of it is on the shop shelves (for now!)!
The Britsock base has been custom spun for The Knitting Goddess in the UK by John Arbon. It contains 40% British Falkland Polwarth, 20% British Wensleydale, 20% British Alpaca and 20% nylon. The Wensleydale and alpaca come from UK flocks and even the nylon is sourced in the UK. The wools and alpaca are processed in the UK, and the yarn is spun in Devon.
Britsock has been spun with a high twist to make it more hard wearing. This also means that the stitch definition is fantastic, so this yarn really lends itself to texture and cables which will show up beautifully. Each 100 gram skein contains 400 meters of yarn.
Hand wash only.
Update January 2019: Joy of The Knitting Goddess has decided to close wholesale orders, therefore we will no longer be restocking colours so once the remaining colours here are sold out, please visit The Knitting Goddess site to top up.
