To celebrate the rich tradition of stranded knitting in Yorkshire, baa ram ewe have created their own dedicated colourwork yarn with British wool that is spun and dyed in Yorkshire.
Pip Colourwork is a handy 25g size and knits to a standard 4 ply weight, with 126 yards on the ball. Like all of the other baa ram ewe yarns it has a beautiful handle: soft and squishy yet with enough grip to bind the shades together. The range includes 15 shades selected from the signature baa ram ewe palette which blend beautifully together, perfect for all your colour work needs.
And the name? Pip comes from the traditional Swaledale ‘Yan Tan Thethera’ method of sheep counting: Yan (one), Tan (Two), Tether (Three), Mether (Four) and Pip (Five), which is perfect, as this is the fifth baa ram ewe yarn!
