These kits are suitable for absolute beginners and include 100g Dovestone Natural Aran yarn, 5mm wooden knitting needles, a faux fur pompom complete with co-ordinating thread, a sewing up needle and a pattern which includes full instructions for the knitting techniques required. What better way than to start with magnificent British yarn as well?! Dovestone Natural Aran is a wonderful blend of sumptuous Bluefaced Leicester with two Yorkshire sheep breeds, the Wensleydale and the Masham and is made in Yorkshire from start to finish using British wool. The kits come in four natural, undyed shades, each with a matching Pom Pom! The hat is gender neutral in style so really, a gift for any non-knitter, even the most reluctant! Dovestone natural aran is also available as individual skeins so the hat can be made over and over ... just in case your beginner catches the knitting bug!

    To celebrate the rich tradition of stranded knitting in Yorkshire, baa ram ewe have created their own dedicated colourwork yarn with British wool that is spun and dyed in Yorkshire. Pip Colourwork is a handy 25g size and knits to a standard 4 ply weight, with 126 yards on the ball. Like all of the other baa ram ewe yarns it has a beautiful handle: soft and squishy yet with enough grip to bind the shades together. The range includes 15 shades selected from the signature baa ram ewe palette which blend beautifully together, perfect for all your colour work needs. And the name? Pip comes from the traditional Swaledale ‘Yan Tan Thethera’ method of sheep counting: Yan (one), Tan (Two), Tether (Three), Mether (Four) and Pip (Five), which is perfect, as this is the fifth baa ram ewe yarn!

    Winterburn DK is one of the beautiful new yarns from baa ram ewe which places a spotlight on another a wonderful Yorkshire sheep breed, the Masham. The Masham has smaller ringlets of fleece than the Wensleydale but with added bounce and loft that it gets from its hill-loving male ancestry, the Dalesbred. Winterburn DK is spun in the UK from 100% British fleece. It is a soft, cosy yarn that is perfect for accessories, garments and homewares. It knits to the same tension as Dovestone DK and can be knit into patterns originally designed for Dovestone DK.
