    Purl and Loop Bracelet Mini Loom Starter Package 10epi

    This lightweight and portable birch loom is made of 1/8" birch wood, and measures approximately 8” x 2 3/4" with a weaving space of 7" x 2 3/8".  The finished bracelet size can be a max of 7” x 2 3/8".  These dimensions should accommodate most wrist sizes but the length may be extended with the use of jewellery findings such as additional jump rings or a chain. This loom is gauge/sett 10.0 ends per inch (e.p.i.). This sett make makes it ideal to work with a finer weight yarn or luxurious threads.  To work with a bulkier weight yarn, the user may warp every other prong for a sett of 5.0 e.p.i.  The materials are sourced in Houston, Texas whenever possible or with North American suppliers.  The looms are produced in the Purl and Loop Houston, Texas studio workshop where they are laser cut, assembled, hand sanded and finished with a water based protective coating.

    • . 2 sets of jewellery findings to make two different width bracelets (colours and metal finishes may vary)

     Additional Tools & Materials Required:

    • . jewellery pliers (we used flat-nose, round-nose and bent-nose)
    • . scissors
    • . yarn and/or thread
    • . glue may be needed to secure ribbon crimp ends to bracelet fabric
    • . tape may be used in place of clips to secure warp threads

    A teeny micro mini loom that is designed to self teach the very basics of weaving in 30 minutes or less. It is teeny tiny and super quick. This is ideal for users who may not want to spend too much time or money in a class or on a larger, more complicated loom product before having a basic understanding of weaving. The results are micro 2” squares that can be stitched together for a larger project. Might be considered a shot glass or demitasse coaster. Yarn/thread requirements range from 3.5 - 6.5 yards depending on weight or thickness.

    Minute Weaver Set comes with all 3 gauges:
    • .Medium (M8) – 8 slots or 4 ends per inch (e.p.i ) – ideal for working with dk, worsted or bulky weight yarn. The thicker yarn means the weaving is much quicker. Requires about 3 ½ yards dk weight yarn. The Medium size not recommended for embroidery threads.
    • .Fine (F16) – 16 slots or 8 e.p.i – ideal for working with sock or lace weight yarn and some heavier embroidery threads. Uses about 6 ½ yards of a lighter weight yarn or thread.
    • .Extra Fine (EF 20) – 20 slots or 10 e.p.i– ideal for lighter weight yarns or embroidery thread. Requires about 6 ½ yards of lighter weight yarn or thread.

    This lightweight and portable birch loom is made of 1/8" birch wood, and measures approximately 4" x 4 1/2" with a work area of 3 3/4" x 3 1/2". This set is the 8.0 ends per inch (e.p.i) sett/gauge. The wee coaster size can be a max of 3 3/4" x 3 1/4". The materials for these looms are sourced in Houston, Texas and the looms are handmade in the Purl and Loop Houston studio. The loom comes with colour photo instructions, wood tapestry needle, small metal tapestry needle for the smaller and tighter areas of the project, wee weaving comb, wee pick up stick and a reusable cotton carrying bag. The instructions demonstrate how to make the wee coaster with fringe and without fringe. The Wee Weaver is an ideal way to learn the very basics of weaving in less than two hours. This is a great way to use up yarn stash.

    Guidelines:
    • . Warp requires 4 yards of any weight or thickness (as long as it fits in the grooves) yarn or string. This amount takes into consideration wrapping the warp entirely around the front and back around every slot.
    • . Weft requires about 10 yards of worsted weight yarn. Weft requirements will change with different weights or types of yarn.
