    Slow Exposure is our most knit Shawl of 2018/2019 and we are always looking for a new reason to cast on another!  And, with all the beautiful colours options, there was no way we could resist making one in Baa Ram Ewe Pip Colourwork so this kit was born!

    The kit contains a copy of An Caitin Beag’s Slow Exposure Shawl and 13 25g balls of Pip Colourwork to make the shawl pictured.  Just add 4mm needles!

    Baa Ram Ewe Pip Colourwork

    With 116m per 25g ball, Pip Colourwork is just perfect for colourwork.  This kit contains 8 balls of Yorkstone and 1 each of Viking, Parkin, Brass Band, Chevin and Dalby.

  3. TLYC Simply Lacey Sock (4ply)

    TLYC Simply Lacey Sock (4ply)

    This cuff down, heel-flap sock with a simple four line lace repeat is a great introduction to socks which are more decorative than a plain sock.  The pattern is structured for distribution on 4 double pointed needles and knitting with the 5th needle but can be knit on your preferred sock needles.  The socks photographed in the pattern have been knit using Lay Family Yarn 75% wool, 25% nylon 4 ply but can be knit in any 4 ply weight sock yarn.

    Yarn: Lay Family Yarn 75% wool, 25% nylon 4ply, 100g.  Shown here in Vintage China.  This should make up to a UK Size 10.  Additional yarn may be required for larger sizes.

    Needles: 2.50mm double-pointed needles (DPNs)

    Sizes: To fit foot circumference: 21.5 (22.5) cm / 8.5 (9) ins. Finished sock foot circumference: 19 (20) cm / 7.5 (8) ins.

    This cuff down, heel-flap sock is our favourite type of simple sock here at The Loveliest Yarn Company. The pattern has been written with new-to-sock knitters in mind.  The pattern is structured for distribution on 4 double pointed needles and knitting with the 5th needle but can be knit on your preferred sock needles.  The socks photographed in the pattern have been knit using West Yorkshire Spinners Signature 4 Ply Yarn but other 4 ply yarns can be substituted.

    Yarn: West Yorkshire Spinners Sginature 4ply, 100g.  This should make up to a UK Size 10.  Additional yarn may be required for larger sizes.

    Needles: 2.50mm double-pointed needles (DPNs)

    Sizes: To fit foot circumference: 20 (21.5, 22.5, 24, 25.5) cm / 8 (8.5, 9, 9.5, 10) ins

    This is the double knit version of our Simply the Simplest Sock pattern.  Double knit socks are just perfect when you need a pair in a hurry or for when you are setting out! This cuff down, heel-flap sock pattern has been written with new-to-sock knitters and more experienced sock knitters a like.  The pattern is structured for distribution on 4 double pointed needles and knitting with the 5th needle but can be knit on your preferred sock needles.  The socks photographed in the pattern have been knit using Coop Knits Socks Yeah DK but other DK yarns (including West Yorkshire Spinners essentials DK) can be used.

    Yarn: Socks Yeah DK, 2 * 50g skeins in the same colour.  To make one with contrast heels and cuffs, three skeins may be required.  

    Needles: 3.75mm double-pointed needles (DPNs)

    Sizes: To fit foot circumference: 20 (21.5, 22.5, 24, 25.5) cm / 8 (8.5, 9, 9.5, 10) ins

    This simple top down baby sock knit in machine washable West Yorkshire Spinners Bo Peep DK is the perfect new baby gift and so quick to make that they should be finished before the baby grows out of them.

    The pattern is shown in WYS Bo Peep Magic which knits into a gorgeous fair isle pattern but there are also a number of solid colours available for matching cuffs, heels & toes.

    Yarn: West Yorkshire Spinners Bo Peep, 1 * 50g ball.  To make one with contrast heels and cuffs, an additional ball in a contrast colour will be required. 

    Needles: 3.75mm double-pointed needles (DPNs)

    Sizes: 3 to 9 months, 9 to 18 months & 18 to 24 months

    This chart has been designed to knit a motif similar to the Wonder Woman logo and has therefore been made available for free. The chart below shows the basic chart and how to include it in a 4 ply sock of various stitch counts. The knit sample is knit in West Yorkshire Spinners Signature 4 ply, Cayenne Pepper (red) and Butterscotch (yellow). The sock pattern markings is it based on is the Simply the Simplest Sock pattern by Michelle Gregory. This motif can be included in any project or pattern desired.
